The Report of the Regular General Meeting, the fiscal year 2000

At the regular general meeting held on 23/Jun/2001 we unanimously got approval on the report about our activities and the statement of accounts in the fiscal year 2000 and the plan of our activities and the budget in the fiscal year 2001.

The added or changed subjects in the plan of our activities of the fiscal year 2001 are as follows:

We have Japanese Everyday Classes as Japanese Short-Term Classes (mainly for adults).
We abolish the monthly fees system. Instead, we adopt the system that the students should pay their tuition fees in advance according to how many times they will attend the classes.
We have classes according to the annual schedule so that there is less imbalance between each week day.
We expand Event Group (Charity Dance Party, Outing, Intercultural Party and so on) and have Chorus Group and Japanese Drums Group (Flower Drums) independent departments, which try to be a source of money.
The new department, Network Department is founded: We cooperate with external organizations and let people understand our aim. We try to expand our activities.
A few advisers become officers.

The outline of the revenue and expenditure report is as follows:

So far, IWC/IAC has paid annual water, lighting and heating expenses, which are calculated referring the expenses in the previous year, as the building rental fee to Ito family, who are founders of our former organizations and the owners of the building. But from this fiscal year we pay a monthly building rental fee according to the regular active hours. That is because we should keep our independency. Therefore, we proposed changes of the membership fees and the tuition fees, and they have got approval.
